Smart Transport Developing the Bay of Plenty’s Transport System

SmartTransport is a partnership tasked to coordinate the land transport development in the Western Bay of Plenty, NZ. The partners are the Western Bay of Plenty District Council, the New Zealand Transport Agency, Environment Bay of Plenty, and the Tauranga City Council.

Projects achieved by SmartTransport include the construction of the SH29 Te Maunga to Maungatapu Median Barrier, the Route J and K expressways, the SH2 Domain Road Roundabout and the commencement of the SH29 Hewletts Flyover.

SmartTransport is a part of SmartGrowth, a programme that manages the growth and development of the Western Bay of Plenty area.
